A Simple Plan: Music

Different Kinds of Guitar Effects Pedals

A lot of musical band fans out there try to imitate their favorite bands. And they try as much as they can to copy their guitar sounds but they fall frustrated because it just does not sound right. Guitar effects can now be achieved using guitar effects pedals which can help you copy the sounds that your favorite band produces. You might have known that this is the solution to your problem but have not tried using these effect pedals yet. The sounds produced by your favorite band can be copied using a guitar effects pedal. There are individual effect pedals but they only produce one kind of sound out of thousands of different sounds. Choosing the right individual effect pedal involves knowing the kind of sound that you want.

So what you can do is to visit your local music store and try out different effect pedals so that you can hear the sounds for yourself. You can find distortion pedals which produce sounds for specific genres like punk, blues overdrive, metal, grunge, and others. Activate the sound effect only needs a step on the pedal once while you are playing your guitar. You turn on the sound by steeping once, and you need to step on the pedal again to turn it off. You can only find the sound that you like by trying the different pedals. All pedals are activated by stepping on it once and it is stopped by stepping on the pedal again. Another type of effect is the digital delay effect which is a low repetition of the last note played. Another type of effect is the chorus effect which adds smoothness to your sound. These pedals also follow the same operation.

Some pedals, however, are used differently. There are wah pedals that are used by first stepping all the way down the pedal to activate the switch and then gently rocked back and forth to produce the “wah” effect. Volume pedals are also rocked back and forth to control the volume. Whammy pedals simulate electric guitar whammy bars, and are operated with the same back and forth rocking motion. This is ideal if your guitar does not have a whammy or if you don’t want to use them.

Multi-effects pedals are also available in music stores. This type of pedal provides lots of different effects in one unit. These are more expensive than individual pedals that perform only one function but they can be a more economical choice since you only pay one price for several effects. Some multi-effects pedals offer both distortion pedal, single-tap actions, and rocking pedal for wah, volume, and whammy effects. -However, multi-effect pedals are reputed to have inferior quality to those of individual pedals.
